Sharing Knowledge across the Mediterranean (3) was hosted by the Abdus Salam ICTP Institute in Trieste. NATO renewed its support to the meeting.
In Trieste, Sigi Gruber explains the measures taken by the European Union to facilitate the mobility of the foreign researchers working within the European Union.
Starting in 2006, the success of these conferences and the necessity to develop them led to the creation of a new structure:
- The international nature of the activities called for the creation of an adapted structure.
- The successes attained within the framework of the multidisciplinary conferences incited to widen the activities by the organization of “executive” workshops.
- It became necessary to find financial resources to support the new activities and in particular to find longer term financing.
To pursue and develop the work introduced by the Sharing Knowledge across the Mediterranean conferences Robert Klapisch created a Foundation. |
